Sunrise over Coiba

Location: Coiba Island, Panama
Description: Coiba Island is the largest island in Central America and is located three hours (by boat) off the coast of Panama. The island housed a penal colony that was eventually closed down in 2004. Now, the island is a national park and a World heritage Site. Home to an incredible variety of wildlife, the island is a popular base for both marine biology and tropical biology researchers. This particular photo was taken when I was based on Coiba while researching sharks.
